Maggie Marko
Circus Artist
Maggie Marko came somersaulting out of the womb in 2005. She started experimenting with movement in ballet classes at 3 years old. Then she quickly grew tired of the uncomfortable tights, and moved onto gymnastics where she built up her calluses. In those 8 years Maggie formed foundational acrobatic skills and a penchant for bending backwards. In private she started to express herself through acrobatic movement and dance. She then began practicing lyra at Aloft Circus Arts and soon after joined the first year of their Youth Ensemble. Learning the essentials of how to work within an ensemble cohesively and performing her first contortion act in “Somewhere Out There” (2023). That education continued when she joined Circadium's 7th class. Maggie learned discipline and began her handbalancing journey. During her time there she blended contortion, dance and acro to find movement that feels uniquely her. She performed in three full length ensemble shows as well as “Where Wild Waits” (2025) an ensemble devised piece that was shown at Circa Festival in Auch, France.
